Summer Adventures in Plymouth

Tinside Lido in Plymouth
My best buddy and I have been saying we'd love to go to the Lido in Plymouth for years and we finally made the time to go this summer.
Plymouth Sound
Luckily the weather was absolutely beautiful when we went - Plymouth Hoe was looking particularly stunning and the views out across the Sound were just perfect.

Tinside Lido was opened in the 1930s and was closed in the 1990s but reopened 10 years ago after a huge refurbishment.
It still retains many of the Art Deco features which is lovely and it is full of character.

We asked the lifeguard if it was cold and she said it was... but it was warmer than the sea.... Every cloud and all that!!

I volunteered to get in first but it took me about 10 minutes to submerge myself because it was soooo cold!!
S was braver and jumped in but the cold took her breath away.

We took my GoPro along for a giggle (don't worry, we got permission and signed a form) so we were trying to get pictures of us under the water but because it was sea water, we were able to float very easily so our underwater pictures meant we rose arse first to the surface!
Much laughter ensued and S was laughing at my inability to swim underwater without holding my nose or opening my eyes. She had borrowed my goggles so next time, I'll wear my goggles and a nose clip!

After half an hour, we were starting to turn blue so got out into the lovely warm summer evening air.
S insisted on an ice cream on the way back to the car... we felt like such tourists but we had an amazing evening and I'm so glad we have finally been to Tinside.
I can't wait to go back another (sunny) day!

Flying lessons....

My naughty horse threw me off.
I have told him he will end up in burgers...

I was riding BH in the field at home and he was absolutely wired. I hate it when he's like that because it feels like I'm sitting on a grenade that could explode at any moment.

He was being a stress head but he began to calm down and listen a bit so I asked him to go a bit faster and it just blew his braincell right out of his head and we had a bit of a rodeo and I flew off and hit the deck!

That is the second time in 7 years I have come off him. The first time was when I ended up with a brain injury over 5 years ago.

I did get straight back on and do a bit with him but he was still being a moron so I called it a day shortly afterwards.

It's the day after and I hurt! My foot has got a nice dark bruise on the heel and I just feel pretty battered. It's no fun falling off....

Happy Owniversary Brown Horse - 7 years!

7 years I have owned this beautiful, mad horse!

This past year, we have had highs and lows....

The biggest high was him being sound enough to take to a competition and he was completely wild but I had the ride of my life!

The low was sadly him going lame again after the competition and having been off games since April!
I did get on him last weekend and he was pretty wild but nothing out of the ordinary. He is now learning to live without shoes so we shall see how we get on over the next few months.
I'm not going to rush him as he doesn't need to work, we'll just see how we go.

Following our animal psychic session, I have to love him even more for what was said and it proves what a special little horse he is and what a special relationship we have.

Animal Communication and Reiki Healing

I recently had an animal communicator and Reiki healer lady come out to see the horses.

I would describe myself as open minded about alternative treatments and methods as I know other people really believe in them and have had success. I'm not a total sceptic despite having a science degree and being a lover of facts and research based evidence!

I had a different lady communicate with BH when I first got him so I was interested to see what this other lady would have to say.
I didn't tell her anything about the horses or their histories at all and she picked up some amazingly accurate stuff and I found what she said very emotional and was really holding back the tears.

I won't go into too much detail of what she said as it was very personal but some of the things she said were how much BH loves me and is very protective of me. He understands his legs and body are failing him but he accepts it and all he cares about is me and how I'm feeling.
She mentioned a couple of names of people and said I must catch up with them or that they were thinking of me.

Fern didn't trust her enough to open up much but she has also had an horrific past and terrible abuse so this is why she shuts down and goes into herself quite often.
She said we need to refocus and start enjoying ourselves again to help Fern take her mind off her past so I have taught Fern something new which she was good at, we went for a lovely long ride and we have also been to the beach so we've been really enjoying ourselves.

The lady did some Reiki on BH and I've had no experience of Reiki before but it was amazing. She never touched him but he was obviously feeling something especially in his bad legs. There was also so much heat coming off of him - he was like a furnace!

It was absolutely fascinating and very moving. I was so impressed that she has been out since and she's coming again.

I will be interested to see how we progress.

Have you had any experiences like this?
